SureEdit Privacy Policy
Effective 20 July 2026
SureEdit is a Shopify app that performs bulk edits to your products and product variants, re-reads every write to verify it, and lets you undo an edit. This policy explains exactly what data the app accesses, why, where it is stored, how long it is kept, and how it is deleted. It applies to the SureEdit app installed on your Shopify store (the “merchant”).
What SureEdit accesses
SureEdit requests only the Shopify access scopes it needs to do its job: read_products and write_products. It uses the Shopify Admin API to read the current values of the products and variants you choose to edit, to write your requested changes, and to re-read those values to verify the change landed correctly.
SureEdit does not request, access, or store any customer personal information — no customer names, emails, addresses, or order data. It does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and it never sells or shares your data.
What SureEdit stores
To run and verify bulk edits, SureEdit stores the following, keyed to your store:
- Edit journal (Operation and OperationItem records). For each bulk edit or undo, SureEdit records the products/variants targeted, the field changed (for example price, title, tags, or SEO fields), the old and new values, and the per-item write/verification outcome. This is what makes verification and one-click undo possible. These records contain product data only — no customer data.
- Your Shopify session. The offline access token and shop identifier Shopify issues at install, used to call the Admin API on your behalf.
- A one-time review-prompt flag. A single per-shop record noting whether we have shown you our “leave a review” prompt, so we never ask more than once. It contains no personal information.
Where it is stored
SureEdit runs on Vercel and stores the data above in a PostgreSQL database (Supabase). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). These sub-processors host the application and its database; they do not receive your data for their own use.
How long it is kept
Operation history is retained according to your plan: 30 days on the Free plan, and one year on the Growth and Pro plans. After the retention window, SureEdit prunes the corresponding edit-journal records automatically. Your Shopify session is kept while the app is installed.
How it is deleted
When you uninstall SureEdit, its access to your store ends immediately and your Shopify session records are removed. SureEdit then honours Shopify’s mandatory data-protection webhooks:
- shop/redact (sent by Shopify approximately 48 hours after uninstall): SureEdit erases all of your store’s data — every Operation and OperationItem record, any remaining session, and the review-prompt flag.
- customers/redact and customers/data_request: SureEdit holds no customer personal data, so there is nothing to erase or return; these requests are acknowledged and logged as required.
As a safeguard, if the shop/redact webhook is never delivered, SureEdit records an uninstall marker and purges the store’s data no later than 30 days after uninstall (unless you reinstall in the meantime).
Your rights
You may request erasure of your store’s data at any time by uninstalling the app or by contacting us at the address below; we will action any request promptly. Because SureEdit stores no customer personal data, requests relating to your own customers are handled entirely through Shopify.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify merchants through the app.
